SMS Communications Program

1. Overview
Alka Systems operates an SMS notification program for clients of our after-hours dispatch infrastructure. This page describes how the program works, how end-users provide consent, and how to opt out.
2. Message types
- Booking confirmations — appointment date, time, and service address.
- Dispatch notifications — updates about scheduled service visits.
- Appointment reminders — sent in advance of a confirmed service window.
- Service updates — changes, cancellations, or rescheduling notices.
3. Message frequency
Message frequency varies based on your service activity. Most customers receive between 2 and 8 messages per service event.
4. Opt-in
End-users subscribe to the SMS program through one of the following methods:
- Verbal consent during a phone call. When a customer contacts the dispatch line, the dispatch agent asks: “Do you agree to receive your appointment confirmation, details, and reminders via text message at this number? Reply STOP at any time to unsubscribe.” Affirmative responses are logged with timestamp, the question asked, the customer’s response, and the phone number into our database via webhook before any SMS is dispatched. Call recordings are retained for 90 days as proof of consent.
- Web form. Customers may opt in via the contact form at alkasystems.com, which includes an explicit SMS consent checkbox.
- SMS reply START. Customers who previously opted out may resubscribe by texting START.
We do not purchase or use third-party SMS lists. Consent is never shared with third parties.
5. Opt-out
Reply with any of the following keywords to any message: STOP, STOPALL, UNSUBSCRIBE, CANCEL, END, QUIT, REVOKE, OPTOUT.
After opting out, you receive one final confirmation: “You have successfully been unsubscribed. You will not receive any more messages from this number. Reply START to resubscribe.”
Opt-out requests are honored within 24 hours, in compliance with the FCC’s revised opt-out rule effective April 11, 2025.
6. Help
Reply HELP or INFO to any message. You will receive: “Reply STOP to unsubscribe. Msg & data rates may apply.”

7. Carrier disclosures
- Message and data rates may apply.
- Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.
- Supported carriers: AT&T, T-Mobile, Verizon Wireless, U.S. Cellular, and other major US carriers.
8. Privacy
Phone numbers and consent records are stored encrypted at rest (TLS 1.3 in transit). We retain consent records indefinitely as required by FCC compliance regulations. We do not sell, rent, or share phone numbers with third parties for marketing purposes. Full privacy policy at /privacy.

Use of the SMS program is subject to /terms.
10. Compliance
The program complies with TCPA (47 U.S.C. § 227), the FCC opt-out rule (April 11, 2025), the One-to-One Consent Rule (January 27, 2026), and A2P 10DLC requirements administered by The Campaign Registry.
